Archiving in Gmail removes a message from the Inbox without normally deleting it. The email remains in your account and can still be found through search or the All Mail view.

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Search for the message
Search by sender, subject, or a phrase from the email.
Step 2: Open All Mail
Use the Gmail navigation menu and open All Mail.
Step 3: Review labels
An archived message may still have labels even though the Inbox label is gone.
Step 4: Open the message
Confirm you found the correct email.
Step 5: Move it back if needed
Use Move to Inbox if you want the message visible in the Inbox again.
